Police said yesterday that there were more undergrads who had been subjected to inhuman ragging at the Perademiya University other than those who had been identified and the perpetrators had been suspended.

Kandy DIG Mahinda Ekanayake said those responsible had escaped Scot free.

The police top brass urged those who had been subjected to extreme ragging to complain to the police.

"Investigations have revealed that among those responsible for ragging the new comers there was a female student as well and she was mainly responsible for ragging the females," he said.

The DIG said police intelligence had been deployed to apprehend the raggers.

The house where the ragging took place had been rented by the perpetrators for Rs.30,000 per month, he said.
