Arosha, Pasan get half-centuries

This was another mini battle in the Vidyartha - St. Sylvester’s rivalry. Once again the Sylvestrians prevailed, beating Vidyartha by two wickets in their Under-17 match at the Police Grounds.

Opener Arosha Dilhara performed best for Vidyaratha with a top score of 69 (4x9, 6x3). Skipper Kevin Nimshan, Isuru Prabodha, Shehan Siriwardena and Kasun all came up with good supporting knocks.

Usindu Nissanka bowled best while Hettiarachchi, Edirisinghe and Waduge chipped in with wickets.

221 was gettable, and so it proved. Pasan Hettiarachchi made an attractive unbeaten 59 (4x7). Skipper Nirmalan Pavitran made a solid 40 and Rifasan 23.

Wijetilleka, Karunatilleka and Gunaratne got among the wickets. This was a good win for the Sylvestrians who were up against a stronger side.
