According to Lenin some of our university students are terrorists - Rajitha

If the legendary Russian leader Vladimir Lenin was alive, he would brand the manner in which some current university students behave as terrorism, says Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne.

Referring to last weeks invasion of the Health Ministry by some university students protesting against the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM), he told a news conference in Colombo on Wednesday, that it was terrorism as described in Lenin’s book entitled "Left-Wing Communism: An Infantile Disorder".

Responding to criticism of the Police for baton charging and using water cannon to disperse the protestors, the ministers asked if they were expected to wait until the Health Ministry was torched.

"I heard Mahinda Rajapaksa blaming the police for the manner in which they had acted," the Minister noted, adding that Mahinda may have been disappointed that no one was killed, as happened during the Rathupaswala protest, which took place on the latter’s watch as the President.
