JO to boycott meeting

The Joint Opposition had decided to boycott today’s meeting convened by the President, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila said last night. The political leaders in the JO had arrived at that decision following a discussion among themselves, he added.

Gammanpila was quoted by Hiru TV as saying that President Sirisena was trying to gain some political mileage out of today’s meeting, having done nothing to bring bond racketeers to justice for the past three years.

However, Gammanpila said, after Feb 10 polls, the JO would attend meeting with the President on the bond scams.
