Prez Japan bound, PM to Digana

President Maithripala Sirisena will leave for India today (March 10). He is scheduled to leave for Japan from there on a three-day official visit, beginning March 12.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to chair a meeting at the Kandy District Secretariat today to discuss the situation there.

The PM will visit Digana and Kengalle before chairing the Kandy meet.

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya will lead a parliamentary group representing political parties to explore the ways and means of helping those affected.

The delegation will meet Mahanayaka Theras and other religious leaders and consult security authorities before visiting the affected communities. (SF)
