Raviraj assassination:
Appeal against acquittal of SLN men fixed for Aug. 02

The Court of Appeal yesterday fixed, for August 2, the inquiry in respect of the appeal filed by the Attorney General, seeking to set aside the High Court order, which acquitted the five naval intelligence officers, who were indicted in respect of the shooting and killing of TNA Parliamentarian Nadarajah Raviraj in Colombo, on November 10, 2006.

Raviraj and his bodyguard who were inside the car, were both fatally shot, when they were passing through Narahenpita, Senior Deputy Solicitor General Rohantha Abeysuriya, appeared for the Attorney General. Anuja Premaratne PC, appeared for the accused persons.

The Bench comprised, Justice Deepali Wijesundera and Justice Achala Wengappuli.
