KANDY: Former General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP) Tissa Attanayake said in Kandy over the weekend that the former State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran’s call for reviving the LTTE was a disgrace and that the authorities should have taken a decision regarding her statement by now.

A decision should be taken instead of delaying appropriate action, former UNP General Secretary told the media after calling on the prelate of Asgiriya Most Veneralble Warakagoda Sri Gnanaratana Thera on Sunday (08) afternoon.

Vijayakala might have made that statement taking into consideration the existing situation in the north, Attanayake said, adding that breakdown in law and order was not confined to the north. It had afffected the South as well.

Law and Order as well as political situation in the country was in a mess, Attanayake said

Asked for his future plans for active politics, Attanayake said that he would certainly take to active politics within the next two or three months.

"I will enter a new political stream, with a new vision and a new force", Attanayake added.
