In the first-clash of today’s double-header, team Galle will take on team Dambulla, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy, in the on-going Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Inter-Provincial T20 League.

Dambulla, already placed second in the points table, will be all out to make it four-wins from five-games, while Galle will want to avoid the second-straight defeat after losing to Colombo, in their last game.

Colombo, Kandy in a dead rubber; Mathews makes a comeback

In the second-encounter of the day, team Colombo will be up against the hill-country capital, Kandy. The Colombo team, led by Test-captain Dinesh Chandimal, having already booked the final berth, will be using this as a rehearsal for the finals.

On the other hand, albeit, the home team are eliminated, the squad will be strengthened with the return of the white-ball captain, Angelo Mathews. Now a specialist batsman, he was side-lined for the first-four games, nursing a series of ankle, calf and quadriceps injuries, down under.

Speedster, Lasith Malinga, who’s fighting to find his position back in the team for the forthcoming Asia Cup, has been off-colour, with mere one-wicket, by far.
