Proposals for rectifying salary anomalies submitted


Teachers’ and Principals’ Trade Union Collective, yesterday, handed over their proposals for rectifying salary anmolaies which had affeccted their service since 1997 to the Presidential Commission looking into salary anomalies in the state sector, according to Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union (CTU).

"When the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service and Sri Lanka Principals’ Service were established in 1994. The B. C. Perera Commission in 1997 created serious anomalies between the two services. This error has not been rectified though a number of other commissions have since been set up. Matters were made worse in 06/2006 salary circular."
