Keerthi Tennakoon appointed Governor Uva

Leading social activist Keerthi Tennakoon has been appointed the Governor of the Uva Province.


He took oaths before President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.


Keerthi Tennakoon is the Executive Director of the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections. He also operates as the Executive Director at the Center for Human Rights and Research (CHR).


Two other Governors also took oaths yesterday, including the new Governor of the Northern Province.


Suren Raghawan was sworn in as the Governor of the Northern Province and Dhamma Dissanayake as the Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province.
