Yes, I’ve got good news for those who enjoy the entertainment scene. It’s certainly getting back to normal…after the April 21st incidents.

The HUT, at the Mount Lavinia Hotel, was just beginning to be a drawcard when the unexpected happened…on April 21st.

However, action at The Hut will recommence on Friday, June 21st, and that should excite the buds of entertainment seekers.

Richard de Zoysa, who now handles The HUT scene, is ready with a new format which, he says, will be entirely different from the usual nightclub structure.

Live bands will be featured on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while The HUT will be active six nights a week.

Richard mentioned that there will be lots more exciting activities, including giant screen entertainment.

"Since the World Cup is now on, cricket lovers can catch all the action, live, on a giant screen – in addition to the best of music."

He also mentioned there will be special menus to make it a happening scene - with music, cricket, food and beverage…all done in a unique way.

Saturday nights, at The Hut, will feature the ever popular group, Mirage, with female vocalist Ishini.

The Mirage and Ishini combination has turned out to be a ‘wow’ factor and music lovers are thoroughly enjoying what comes their way from this dynamic combination.

According to bassist Benjamin (Benjy) Ranabahu, they plan to give Saturday nights, at The HUT, a new feel.

"We want to give our fans music that will make them want to come back for more."

And, this is what the great Sohan Weerasinghe had to say about Mirage, early this year:

"Managed to catch the last session of Mirage at the Odel Promenade.

"They have a lovely repertoire and the new female singer, Ishini, is adding a lot….

"With Benjy back in the band, you will hear lots of good things about Mirage in 2019.

"Congrats to Donald and the boys!!"

Shafi, and his oufit Gravity, is slated to perform one night of the week, at The HUT – and also the band Rock This Country.
