By Hiran H. Senewiratne

Sri Lanka's growth rate for 2019 will be around 3 to 4 per cent, Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajith Commrasamy told the media yesterday at the CBSL auditorium in Colombo.

The Governor said, among other things, that inflation will be at 4-6 per cent and be within the expected range. The country will be also enjoying a current account surplus after 10 years.

He added that bank interest would come down along with a decline in deposit and lending rates. The country's reserves would be at $ 8.9 billion. Overall macro-economic fundamentals would be intact.
