Royal Institute edge out defending champions



 


Jude Gomaz and Shashika Ranatunga scored valuable 40s to help Royal Institute record a five wickets victory over defending champions Lyceum International School, Wattala and book a final berth in their Inter International Schools Under-19 Limited Overs Tournament Semi Final played at Shalika Ground yesterday.


Put to bat first, Lyceum were restricted to 148 runs as Shehan Hettiarachchi and Yasas Karunaratne picked up three wickets each.


In their essay Royal Institute reached the target in 29 overs. Gomaz and Ranatunga scored 42 and 40 runs respectively.
