The Attorney General’s Department of Singapore has informed its Sri Lankan counterpart that it has received the documents requesting the extradition of former Central Bank Governor of Sri Lanka Arjuna Mahendran, who is a citizen of that country.

The Foreign Ministry and the Defence Ministry dispatched two dossiers containing 21,000 pages prepared by the AG’s Department to Singapore requesting the extradition of Mahendran.

The coordinating officer to the AG, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said the Singapore authorities, whilst acknowledging the receipt of the above mentioned documents, had expressed its desire to discuss future action in that regard.
