SL ‘Hadabima’ Authority to produce carbonic fertilizer

The Sri Lanka ‘Hadabima’ Authority (SLHA) has taken steps to produce 5,000 metric tons of fertilizer as part of the project launched by the institution to expand and popularise the production of carbonic fertilizer.
SLHA Chairman Nandasena Herath said that the project would be implemented on a commercial basis with the participation of nearly 25,000 selected families. Rs. 50 million had been allocated for this year.
At present several programmes are being conducted to enhance the awareness of the farmers regarding the benefits of using carbonic fertilizer.
"The Authority has also opened a Sales outlet in Kandy to sell carbonic fertilizer at cheap rates. It has also commenced selling several varieties of vegetables and fruits produced by using carbonic fertilizer.
