HNB to partner the resilient  people of Kilinochchi

Hatton National Bank opened its 191st customer centre at Karuna Nilayam, A9 Road, Kilinochchi recently.

The chief guest for the occasion was Ms Crysanthi Thambiah, Deputy General Manager- Network Management of HNB.

The opening ceremony was graced by a distinguished gathering which included senior government officials, bank officials, local businessmen and customers. The HNB Kilinochchi customer centre is fully equipped to provide customers with an easy and convenient access to all banking facilities.

Ms Thambiah said that HNB was in Kilinochchi to partner the people of Kiliochchi and had identified Kilinochchi to be one of the best regions for agriculture with suitable water systems.

"Today is both a sad and a happy day," she said at the branch opening, "A sad day when we consider the tremendous loss and sacrifice the people of Kilinochchi had to undergo during the three decade long conflict. It is a happy day when we considering the number of commercial banks that have already come to Kilinochchi to serve the people in the area.

"HNB with an experience of more than three decades of service to the people in the North and East would be able to counsel and advise the people of Kilinochchi to rebuild their lives. The bank would provide its range of agri based loans, professional loans, education loans, shanthi home loans to the people of Kilinochchi to rebuild their lives and to raise a new lot of entrepreneurs in the area."
