Devolution for whose benefit?

The country should be grateful to the senior lawyer Gomin Dayasiri for drawing attention to the possible anarchical situation that could follow the devolution of police power to provinces.

As pointed out in the Sunday Island editorial of February 5th 2012 "the PCs have been an expensive experiment costing the tax payer dearly and benefiting the second tier of elected office."

Provincial councils were thrust upon this country .It has created an unwanted national problem and ammunition for separatists

The entire country will have to decide whether the independence we won first in 1948 and then in 2009 should be sacrificed to appease a handful of separatists at the behest of some foreign powers inimical to Sri Lanka that could lead us  to a  worse situation than the current one faced by the Maldivians.
