Joint opposition invites SF

A joint opposition yesterday invited Sarath Fonseka and his party DNA to join forces with them to fight against corruption and anti democratic rule.
It said the government was taking the country and its people into a dark age therefore an action plan had been formulated to defeat its wrongful acts and protect the rights of the people.
Addressing a news conference organized by the group, UNP MP Joseph Michael Perera said that the government should release former army commander with all his civic rights intact.
Other opposition party leaders Dr. Wickramabahu Karunaratne of the NSSP, Sarath Manamendra of the Nava Sihala Urumaya, Aruna Soysa, General Secretary of the Ruhunu Janatha Party also said that their parties believed that the civic rights of Gen Fonseka must be restored.
