Prasanna and Welagedara given higher contracts

Sri Lanka Cricket announced yesterday that following discussions with Chairman of Selectors Ashantha de Mel they had decided to give wicketkeeper batsman Prasanna Jayawardene a category two contract and Chanaka Welagedara a category four contract.

Prasanna had been one of Sri Lanka’s successful batsman during the last year, in Test cricket and surprisingly had been relegated to the third tier in the list of contracted players below several juniors.
