All 53 Councillors of the Colombo Municipal Council should put aside petty differences and political affiliations and join hands to further develop the city of Colombo, UPFA Councillor Azath Salley said at the May Monthly meeting of the CMC on Thursday (31) at the Town Hall.

He said that all Councillors should act with responsibility and deliver the goods as eight months had elapsed since their election.

It was an utter waste of time to harp on something alleged to have happened at Kadalama

three months back, he said.

UNP Councillor M. A. Sharafdeen moved a resolution against a statement UPFA group leader M. H. Maharoof had made on Tuesday on the incident at Kandalama Hotel.

Another UNP Councillor Premajayanth Kasturiaratchi moved a motion for constructing a housing complex at Elamaduwatte, Dematagoda.

Councillor Salley called for the resumption of the train service at Sathutu Uyana, Vihara Maha Devi Park, which has been abandoned for about 20 years.
