S. Korean Park trains for world record

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korean swimmer Park Tae-hwan says his goal is to set a world record at the London Olympics.

Park told reporters in Seoul on Friday that he’s trying to improve his starts and turns ahead of the games starting next month.

Park, who won gold in the 400-meter freestyle at the 2008 Olympics, claimed the 200 free Saturday at the U.S. grand prix in Santa Clara, California. He earlier won titles in the 100, 400 and 800 freestyles.

He says a world record will be difficult, but he thinks his preparations will yield good results.

Park will train in Australia before heading to London.
