The annual Female Law–Medical Six-a-side cricket match played in Colombo recently, produced a close contest with the lawyers running out winners.

The doctors took first lease of the Colts ground wicket and notched up 42 for two in five overs, which seemed a formidable total at that stage with a run rate of 8.4.

The lawyers, led by Charmaine Madurasinghe, started their run chase cautiously, but paced the innings very well to notch up the wining target in 4.2 overs without losing a single wicket.

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Medical Association, has been organising this event since 2008. The inaugural match was played at the P. Sara Stadium.
