Don’t give nominations to dubious character says PAFFREL chief
June 30, 2012, 6:51 pmBy Franklin R. Satyapalan
The Executive Director of the PAFFREL Rohana Hettiarachchi yesterday made a fervent appeal to secretaries of mainstream political parties to ensure that they do not give nominations to those accused of being corrupt, criminals and drug dealers and later blame the voter for electing them.
"It is true the voters also are partly to be blamed as they had the responsibility not to vote for such persons but it is the party that has the major share of responsibility to nominate those at least with some education, political vision and standing amongst the voting population.
