Disgraced sports administrator Suresh Kalmadi, who was jailed for nine months on corruption charges related to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, will attend the London Olympics after receiving court permission to travel.
Kalmadi was allowed by a New Delhi court on Friday to visit London from July 26 to Aug. 13 despite ongoing graft cases against him.
He received an invitation from games organizers as a member of the IAAF council and as president of the Asian Athletics Association.
Kalmadi was the chief organizer of the Commonwealth Games, which were marred by construction delays and graft allegations as its budget ballooned to $15 billion from an initial estimate of $412 million.
