July 23, 2012, 6:57 pmBy Saman Upul Pinidiya
A group of people transporting cattle from Akuressa to Yakkalamulla fled when their truck broke down.
Residents of the areas found the vehicle packed with cattle.
The infuriated villagers had saved the buffaloes.
By that time four animals had died, according to the police and the legs of the others had been broken and they couldn’t walk.
The owner of the vehicle is said to be a resident of Nuwara Eliya.
The Akuressa police are making investigations.
