SLIM NASCO 2012 recognised sales personnel in the country at a glittering ceremony last week.

Customer care, value addition and after sales service were key factors for any brands success in the market. Those vial requirements had been proved in many competitive market conditions throughout the world, Chairman State Trading Corporation (STC) Pradeep Gunawardena said.

"In developed countries like the USA it is difficult for companies to sustain if they do-not focus on customer care, value addition and after sales service. Because, companies will fall under competitive market conditions if they do not treat their customers with care," Gunawardena said at the SLIM National Sales Congress (NASCO) 2012 on last Friday.

He said that STC Was converted into a profit making entity from a loss making one because they utilized their limited staff and resources to focus mainly on customer care and other marketing tactics to attract business through which they were able to position the corporation as a profit making public entities in the country, he said.

Gunawardena said that under the current market scenario every business entity irrespective of private or public need to pay much attention to customer care, which would help the company to create best brands in the market.

Today, to rescue any loss making venture it should focus on marketing strategies which helped to retain customers and attract new customers, he said.

Head of the Judging panel Nandana Wickremage said that sales persons were always in the field not under the roof of the company. They were less recognized by most of companies. This event would help recognize sales persons who brought revenue to the company.
