Dr. Uditha Gunasekera of NEMIHR said that vehicle had been used for propaganda activities at 8.30 a.m. yesterday, in the Mihintale, town on behalf of UPFA candidates. That incident had been reported to the Deputy Elections Commissioner in Anuradhapura, he said, claiming that that Rs. 100 was to be distributed among senior citizens at the residence of UPFA candidate Weeraratne Gamage yesterday (6).
Arrangements had also been made for farmers in the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa districts to be given Rs. 6,000, besides the pension scheme, by Agrarian Insurance Board from September 4 to 6, he said.
