Two more gold bottoms detected at BIA

Two Indian nationals were nabbed by the customs at the BIA while they were attempting to smuggle out Rs. 5.9 million worth of gold biscuits hidden in their person. They were arrested while waiting to board a Chennai bound SriLankan Airlines flight on Saturday morning.


The customs officers said that they had been arrested at two different times and the first suspect had four gold biscuits in his person weighing 408 g worth 2.9 million rupees while the other had six gold biscuits weighing 438 g worth three million rupees.


They were fined Rs. 100,000 each and released, the officers said.
