‘Rail track Sanjeewa’ abducted in Kataragama

An underworld criminal and drug peddler known as ‘Rail track Sanjeewa’, who made the Bloemendhal area of Kotahena his bastion, was abducted by an unknown gang in Kataragama on Sunday night.


The notorious underworld character had been travelling by car at the time of the abduction, around 7.30 p.m.


Police have information that Sanjeewa had been involved in killings, use of firearms and also dealing in drugs in collaboration with the notorious gang headed by ‘Kimbula Ele Gunay’, who fled to India.


Rail track Sanjeewa’s was alleged to have killed an individual named Nalaka of Wellampitiya. He had also killed the uncle of Prince Colum and buried him inside the garbage dump at Bloemendhal Road.


‘Rail track Sanjeewa’, had also been associated with underworld gang leader Dhammika at the time of the killing of Presidential Advisor Baratha Lakshman Premachandra. He had got himself arrested by some Excise officials with a consignment of drugs to escape the crackdown on the underworld.
