Protest today against attacks in B’desh on Buddhist shrinesOctober 4, 2012, 6:56 am
The Bodu Bala Sena organization, together with other leading Buddhist organisations in the country, will stage a peaceful protest in Colombo today against the recent attacks on Buddhist shrines and people by a group of extremists in Bangladesh and to display their solidarity with Bangaldeshi Buddhists, a press release issued by General Secretary of the organisation Ven Galagodaaththe Gnansara thera said yesterday.
The release said: "We strongly condemn these attacks and crimes against humanity and destruction of sites of archaeological importance and Buddhist heritage. We request all to be present at 1.30 p.m. near the Buddha Statue at the Vihara Maha Devi Park in Colombo on October 4 to condemn the attacks."
