Health services put on stand by

The Health Ministry said that provincial health services were on standby in case of an emergency owing to adverse weather conditions.

The Spokesman for the Health Ministry said yesterday that all regional health directors, provincial health directors, MoH offices, PHIs and District epidemiologists were issued with instructions to implement the emergency management mechanism.

He said that steps will be taken to monitor the health situations in the camps to prevent an epidemic such as dirrhoea outbreak during the next few days.

The MOH offices have been instructed to chlorinate drinking water wells as well when flood conditions recede, he said.

There are over 25 camps while 13 districts have been affected by the weather. (DJ)
