The District Court of Colombo yesterday re-issued notice on the President of the Sri Lanka Bar Association, Wijedasa Rajapakshe PC, and the other executive member of the association, returnable on Nov. 23, 2012.
The notice was in respect of the application for interim injunction, filed by a group of lawyers, requesting the Court to suspend the holding of ‘Neethiranga’ 2012, until the application against the conduct of the organisers was finally determined.
The plaintiffs have complained that the singers and the dramatists to perform at that event had been chosen in an arbitrary manner.
When the application was called in the District Court of Colombo yesterday, none of the respondents were present.
Mahinda Ralapanawa, who supported the plaint, said that the respondents had purposely avoided the receipt of the notice, which was delivered by the fiscal. The Court re-issued notice.
The Bench comprised Colombo District Judge Amal Ranaraja.
