Rohitha Perera, former co-ordinating secretary of Labour Relations and Productivity Improvement Minister Gamini Lokuge was abducted from a hotel he owned in Dampe, Piliyandala by an unidentified gang on Saturday night, He had been taken by his abductors some distance and then dropped off.
When contacted Minister Lokuge said that Perera was no longer his co-ordinating Secretary and added that he had also heard about the incident, but didn’t know any details.
Piliyandala police said that the victim had not lodged a complaint about the incident for them to begin an investigation.
