KANDY – President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday (19) paid his last respects to the late Kandy Municipal Council UPFA Member Sanjeewa Hulangamuwa who passed away on Wednesday (17) night.
President Rajapaksa visited the residence of late Mr. Hulangamuwa at Damunupola Mawatha accompanied by Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake and Kandy Mayor Mahindra Ratwatte.
Several Minister were also present at the residence of late Mr. Sanjeewa Hulangamuwa.
The remains of the former Municipal Councillor will be kept at the Kandy Town Hall for public to pay their last respects this afternoon (21) before being taken to the Mahiayawa cemetery for cremation at 4.30 p.m.
