Sri Lanka win last ball thriller, Kaushalya star of the day

Sri Lanka beat England in a last ball thriller by one wicket in a Group ‘A’ match of the 2013 Women’s Cricket World Cup, at the Brabourne Stadium, in Mumbai, on Friday.


England, who were sent into bat made 238 for 8 in their 50 overs. Sri Lanka pipped them, scoring 244 for 9, also in 50 overs.


Sri Lanka’s star of the day was undoubtedly LE Kaushalya, who blasted 56 off just 41 balls, inclusive of three sixes and five fours.


Earlier, she took 2-49 when England batted.
