28 people injured in head-on collision

Twenty eight persons were injured yesterday when an SLTB bus and a private passenger coach collided at Bala Pokuna in Thavalanthenna on the Pundalu Oya – Ramboda main road.

The injured were rushed to the Nuwara Eliya and Kotmale hospitals, according to the Kotmale police

The accident occurred around 6.15 am.

The condition of 12 of the injured was serious and they had been transferred to the Gampola hospital, the police said.
