Lankan artists participate Haryana Craft Mela

A 30-strong group of Sri Lankan artistes are participating in the annual Suraj Kundh International Craft Mela, organized by the government of Haryana, in India. The Crafts Mela began on February 1 and will end on February 15.

The group comprised 15 handicratfsmen from the National Crafts Council and a troupe of 12 dancers from the National Youth Council. The organizing authorities of the Suraj Kundh International Mela had named February 12 as Sri Lankan Day.

Several special programmes have been organized for Lankan participants by the Chairman, NCC Buddhi Keerthisena and high officials of the Haryana Suraj Kundh International Mela will take part in the events. The trade stalls, replete with Sri Lanka tea and sweets, will be a great attraction. (DAW)
