KSPPA to set up hostel in Colombo for Kandy school teams

The Kandy Schools’ Past Pupils’ Association, Colombo, more famed for their annual ‘Kandy Bash’ get-together, have undertaken a more immediate project to set up a hostel in Colombo, to accommodate Kandy school teams visiting the capital for inter-school matches, or academic activity.

Their first fund raiser was a musical show at ‘Waters Edge’, in February this year which was described as a ‘huge‘ success.

A similar musical review will be held today at Dharmaraja College Auditorium, Kandu commencing at 6.00 p.m.

The audience can look forward to performances by T. M. Jayaratna, Keerthi Pasqual, Chandrika Siriwardena, Clifford Richard, Sanoja Bibile, Michael Sansoni, and many other stage and film personalities.

As with the annual ‘Kandy Bash’, the hostel project, too, is organised by the Kandy schools‘ past pupils, who are now holding important slots in the public and private sectors in Colombo.

The past pupils of twelve leading schools in Kandy have embarked on this project to raise funds.

Six girls schools, Mahamaya College, Girls’ High School, Pushpadana College, Good Shepherd Convent, St. Anthony’s Convent, Hillwood College, and as many boys schools, Dharamaraja College, Kingswood, Vidyartha, St. Sylvester’s, Trinity, and St. Anthony’s, are all part of the Kandy schools which have undertaken this project.
