Murali says wearing velocity
pendant enhances natural energies

Retired Test spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, who had the second best bowling figures at the recently concluded Champions League, revealed that he has been wearing a velocity pendant during the recent past which helps those who wear it enhance their natural energies.
The off spinner who took 12 wickets, the second highest during the Champions League, said this on Thursday in Singapore in reply to ‘The Island’ queries after he was appointed Brand Ambassador for QNet, the company which sells the product. It was his first appointment as a brand ambassador since retirement.
Muralitharan said that he has experienced high energy levels QNet.
"I have been using some of the products for the last few months and I wore this pendant during the Champions League. it helps the player to have a kind of balance, when you play," Murali said.
He said he was happy to endorse the QNet range of energy products as he has discovered himself that they actually improve natural energies in sportsmen.
Murali admitted that he was not able to categorically explain how it works but said that it helped improve his performances. "I am unable to explain how it works, but my experience is that it has helped me to improve my energy level and balance," Murali said.
Muralitharan played a crucial role in Chennai Super Kings’ victory in the Champions League final where he picked up three wickets to for his IPL team. Muralitharan ended up with 12 wickets, the second highest, during the Champions League and maintained an economy rate of 5.69, the best among top five wicket takers in the tournament.
In an interview with ‘The Island’ Muralitharan said that the product was not an alternative to performance enhancing substances, which are prohibited. He said these kinds of products which are largely considered jewellery enhances only the natural energies and are used all over the world. He said that it was not only sportsmen but any individual who could afford to wear it will benifit by it.
Speaking at the press conference Zaheer Merchant, QNet Regional Manager for Singapore said that Muralitharan remained at the top of their list when they were looking for a brand ambassador.
"Murali fits perfectly with our core values which are services, teamwork, integrity and being result oriented. Hence, there is a clear synergy between our corporate values and all that Murali stands for," Merchant added.
