Korean proficiency exam on Oct. 19 and 20

The 11th Korean language proficiency examination would be held on October 19 and 20 in Colombo, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) announced yesterday.


It said the registration forms, for candidates who wished to sit the Korean language proficiency exam, could be obtained from 22 centres countrywide until Wednesday (15).


According to the SLBFE the successful candidates would be selected only for jobs in Fisheries and Construction sectors in South Korea.


The examination results would be published on November 01 on www.slbfe.lk, www.eps.go.kr, www.hrdkorea.or.kr.


The test, conducted by the Examinations Department, along with the SLBFE and Human Resources Development Service of Korea, will be held at 10 centres in Colombo.


The test is jointly organized by the SLBFE and the Korean Human Resources Development Authority.


Sri Lankan employees consider Korea as a better paid destination and there is a high demand for the Korean language proficiency test that provides basic qualification for a job in Korea.


Each year around 50,000 individuals sit the examination to qualify for around 10,000 employment opportunities in South Korea.
