Twenty winners rewarded at Elephant House ‘Stick Eke Luck Eka’ first drawSeptember 9, 2013, 6:18 pm
Eight mountain bikes and four each of the other mega prizes which were play stations, digital cameras and Samsung Galaxy phones were up for grabs at this preliminary draw held on August 30th . They were gifted to the twenty lucky winners at a ceremony held on September 04th at the Hilton Colombo Residence. Cricketing hero Angelo Matthews too played a vital part in the proceedings which saw many young Elephant House ice cream fans walk away with these valuable prizes.
The Stick Eke Luck Eka consumer promotion generated in excess of fifty one thousand entries for the first draw held on August 30th. The competition centred around the ‘stick range’ which includes Elephant House 2Bar, Jumbo Jolly and Wonder Bar with the ‘stick’ holding the key to each one’s lucky prize. Thousands of young fans who purchased their ‘stick’ ice creams from the Elephant House islandwide dealer network would impatiently open up their ice creams to find the hidden surprises on the sticks each time they purchased one, and anticipation of the draws has since been building up. The competition continues till September 30th and with one in ten sticks containing the symbol of a Jumbo Jolly or 2Bar as an instant prize which can be redeemed from the closest vendor, the chances of winning are encouragingly high. This consumer promotion began on August 01st and thus far has seen Elephant House ice cream fans winning free ice creams as instant prizes on a daily basis. More mountain bikes, video games, digital cameras and Samsung Galaxy phones are on offer for lucky winners of the grand draw to be held on October 3rd.
"This is the first time in Sri Lanka that a promotion of such magnitude is being held for the 60ml stick ice cream category and we are much encouraged by the tremendous response we have received from our numerous consumers. We look forward to rewarding them with a host of valuable prizes through this preliminary draw and thereafter, the grand draw", said Neil Samarasinghe, Head of Frozen Confectionery at Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (Elephant House), and Vice President, John Keells Holdings PLC at the completion of the event.
