The official ground breaking ceremony for the Destiny Mall & Residency was held on Sunday the 29th of September 2013 at No. 20, Akbar Mawatha, Colombo 02. The new sales site office was also showcased during the occasion. The ceremony was attended by the Chief Guest Nimal Perera, Chairman Urban Development Authority, the High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka Major General (Rtd) Qasim Qureshi, the founder of the Lakhani Group & Imperial Builders Hussain Lakhani and 300 current and potential clients of The Destiny.
The gathering was addressed first by Azeem T. Elahi Executive Director of Imperial Builders Pvt Ltd. While expressing his gratitude to the Urban Development Authority and Ministry of Defense for the cooperation and positive attitude which has contributed towards the success of the development Elahi added "Offering affordable smart living in the heart of Colombo has been at the core of our mission and vision, this has also led to an overwhelming response towards the development, we will not fall short of your expectations, we will exceed them, provide you with the best product in the best location at the best price, rest assured. The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka Major General (Rtd) Qasim Qureshi addressing the gathering announced his pleasure to see the first Pakistani initiative in the development of real estate in Colombo, "this is a pioneering initiative and a matter of great pride for all of us from Pakistan to see this great project (the Destiny) coming up.
