Kandy Hospital gets new MRI scanner

KANDY– Health Minister Maithripala Srisena, on Wednesday (12), gifted an MRI Scanner worth Rs. 250 million to the Kandy General Hospital.


Minister Sirisena said that his ministry had arranged to install CT Scanners in several other hospitals.


The minister said that the Health Ministry had received an allocation of Rs. 157 billion from the national budget for 2014. Rs. 37 billion would be utilised for payment of salaries of 115,000 employees in the health sector.


Chief Minister Central Province Sarath Ekanayake, Provincial Health Minister Bandula Yalegama, Secretary Ministry of Health Dr. Nihal Jayatilaka and Director Kandy General Hospital Dr. Saman Ratnayake also attended the handover ceremony.
